CSX 6207, a GP-40, on a light engine move (no freight cars). About to cross the US-20 bridge near MP 40 on the Worcester-Framingham line. Worcester, MA.
I used a black and white adjustment layer in Photoshop, yellow filter preset. I was pleased with the compostion. Not holding the camera straight makes the picture more dynamic I think, as though the locomotive is charging downhill.

Provincetown Pilgrim Monument
The Pilgrim Monument was built between 1907 and 1910 to commemorate the first landfall of the Pilgrims in 1620 and the signing in Provincetown Harbor of the Mayflower Compact. This 252-foot (76,80 m) tall campanile is the tallest all-granite structure in the United States. Source and official site.

Refusing their reduced pay became a point of honor for the men of the 54th. In fact, at the Battle of Olustee, when ordered forward to protect the retreat of the Union forces, the men moved forward shouting, “Massachusetts and Seven Dollars a Month!” Unknown to them, Congress had just voted to pay colored troops the same as white troops.
